Salary: Median pay (annual): 31,020 USD (2012)

           Median pay (hourly): 14.91 USD (2012)

Education: Postsecondary non-degree award

Demand for this particular career: EMTs and Paramedics. Employment of emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and paramedics is projected to grow 24 percent from 2014 to 2024, much faster than the average for all occupations.This increase, in turn, will create greater demand for EMT and paramedic services.
